US Consulting Group (USCG) is a national waste and recycling management company, and a top partner of ours for several years now. What makes them a top partner? Not only do they offer substantial cost savings to clients at no capital expense, they’re redefining what a well-developed, strategic waste plan should be. And the BINPAK®, one of their newest product offerings for the club industry, embodies this perfectly. The BINPAK is a six-yard waste container with built-in compaction using

No matter what you call yours, everyone on planet Earth has one. Nearly half of men become one. Dad, daddy, old man, pa, papa, pops, sir. Father. This Sunday marks the day Americans officially honor the patriarch of the family.  June 16 also plays host to the final round of our country’s great golf championship—the US Open. These two celebrated events often intertwine on the calendar and rightfully so. While not all fathers in the United States are avid golfers, studies

by Carla Boss My VGM Club teammate, Mike Woltz, and I were busy volunteering again earlier this month at the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic. The event was held at Trinity Forest Golf Club where we were excited to be surrounded by some familiar faces. Yes, Jordan Spieth and Brooks Koepka were there. However, the PGA’s top players were not the superstars we came to see. We stepped inside the ropes to support the unsung heroes of these tournaments—Trinity Forest’s maintenance team and

Miller, and why the company bares his initials as our namesake. The “VGM” acronym can take on other translations. When thinking about our agronomy programs for the sake of this blog, I in particular can think of our moniker standing for this… Value Growth Maintenance Value

Spring has (finally) sprung and with it so has preparation for outdoor seating areas at country clubs across the northern two-thirds of the United States. Pulling patio seating from storage and wiping down outdoor tables are a common occurrence right now. It’s a time-honored tradition and a rite of passage of sorts especially for new staff members. ”But how do I start this power washer?” asks Tim the new kid. That might be Timmy’s question, but as a manager you may be

Happy Holidays from your friends at VGM Club. As we come to the end of 2018, we want to look back and appreciate all of the success we have accomplished together, and hope to continue for years to come. At the start of the 2018 year, VGM Club continued adding more clubs to the VGM community, ending the year with 366 new member accounts. With the help of these new members, the VGM Club community projects $20 million in savings and rebates for our members this year. Thanks again

Written by Andrew Huff: Almost 40 years ago, the New York Times published “Country Clubs Sell a New Image.” Below is an excerpt from the piece, Harrison Dorothy Fine, who has been with the Westchester Country Club for 38 years, was standing outside the main entrance one Saturday night recently when a motorcycle pulled up. The passenger, a young woman dressed in jeans, was a club member. “Anything wrong?” she asked Miss Fine. “I said I remembered

This past week VGM Club was able to gather VGM Club members, speakers and partners together for a full day of GCSAA certified education and demonstration. “It was exciting to bring together experts from different disciplines to provide the audience with a high level of education. It was our goal to bundle several educational credits for superintendents and bring it to them. With the support of the GCSAA we made that happen.” – Cam Schultz, Session leader and VP of Marketing. Our Agronomy Advisory Board Mailbag: Quarter Three edition is brought to you by Nufarm. We are approaching the most important purchasing season of the year for Superintendents. Some of our members are almost hot off the heels of another grueling summer. Superintendents like Rick Tegtmeier and his team busted their butts all summer to overcome challenges, and now they have to quickly recalibrate for next season. Simply put, its a tough turnaround. It has been a very difficult growing
