What to Look For In a Portable Dance FloorInterested in getting the party started? An important factor for your venue is the opportunity for increased revenue generation through safe and successful events. A portable dance floor is a key ingredient and one that maximizes facility output while minimizing liability over a long period of time.To achieve the best return on your investment you need to evaluate portable dance floor alternatives in the following key areas:
Durability Among the most popular portable floors are those with either a wood or laminate surface. While a wood parquet floor might achieve a design preference, this surface is susceptible to indentations and punctures from high heels and is more often scratched. A corresponding 16’x20’ floor requires only 20 of the 4 foot panels. With the larger panel, you need fewer panels to cover the same floor surface area, fewer trips back and forth to a panel cart, and less installation time. Another labor issue to consider is whether the floor can be installed or disassembled easily. A 20’x20’ Magnattach Portable Floor can be setup or taken down in less than seven minutes by two people. Complicated panel designs, moving parts, and required tools slow down setup and takedown, which can markedly increase your time and labor costs. Safety As already mentioned, the panel’s attachment design affects safety. Look for edge ramps that are made from heavy-duty extruded aluminum, and that alternate with the dance floor’s panel seams. This careful attention to seam location fortifies the locking ability of the adjoining dance floor panels and provides an additional defense against separation. The best designed edge ramp corners are welded together and present a true 90-degree design. By wrapping around the panel and attaching on the adjacent sides, these L-shaped edges eliminate a seam at the corner (common on most dance floors) and prevent a pinch point and another potential tripping hazard.  Storage Once the party is over, is your floor a hassle to disassemble and store? Look for a portable floor system with an accompanying cart designed to hold panels upright to maximize space. Tobacco Tax Licensing and Reporting for 2011 It is crucial that everyone purchasing and re-selling cigars knows the importance of tobacco tax licensing and reporting.
